onions and gout

I have been testing all, rare and common foods on my gout for ages. Now, I know plenty of details and specifics, I would like to share with you. A proper, well-balanced diet can do wonders and the benefits are extremely high.

There is no cure for gout. You will probably have to take painkillers eventually and you will have to manage their use. Luckily there are plenty of foods out there that can be beneficial.

Today I will discuss the link between onions and gout. There are plenty of facts here and the overall explanation won’t be very complicated. Yes, you should consume more onions, and here I will explain why.

Onions are extremely healthy and powerful

Onions are extremely powerful food. They have no fat, they are low in calories and they are great for inflammation treatment. This makes them an ideal choice for all gout sufferers.

Onions are also rich in antioxidant properties and they are known to kill free radicals which damage cells. Onions can be consumed daily, even if you suffer from gout and there won’t be any complications.

Not all onions are the same and not all of them have the same ingredients. The most ‘’powerful’’ types are yellow, red, and shallots. Basically, they have the highest level of compounds that will fight off the diseases.

Sweet and white onions have the lowest level of healthy properties and they are delicious but they are not as ideal as you may believe. They are safe for gout patients.

One way you can distinguish the health benefits of the onions is to take a look at the flavors. Shallots, red and yellow have much stronger flavors and they are stronger in protecting you from various diseases. But, what about onions and gout?

Correlation between onions and gout

Yes, onions and gout are more connected than you may believe and there are two main facts. The secret is in flavonoid which is known as quercetin. It affects and fights prostaglandins, leukotrienes, and histamines. All of these are inflammation causing compounds. Quercetin inhibits them and shows massive improvement in RA and OA.

The same compound will also decrease LDL or bad cholesterol in the blood and will decrease the risk of heart disease. In addition, the compound decreases the risk of cancer as well.

I must add that onions do contain GPCS (gamma-L-glutamyl-trans-S-1-propenyl-L-cysteine sulfoxide) which has positive effects on bone breakdown. It has the same properties as a medication called Fosamax used to treat the bone-related condition.

Other than this, there are no other facts I can add. Onions are safe for all people and they are loaded with healthy ingredients. They can make any meal taste much better and they are versatile food which can be seen in any meal around the globe.

This is basically all you have to know regarding onions and gout. This food is safe and can help you experience less pain and protect yourself from a gout flare.

One thing you must remember is that in some cases onions are not good. This is related more to the second food present than on this vegetable. The best example is liver meat with onions. The liver must be avoided by gout sufferers and the situation is the same with all organ meat.
