Here I will spend some time discussing apple cider vinegar. This is a wonderful and truly amazing home remedy that has been among us for 10.000 years or more. It is used to remove toxins, to help you preserve youth and also to treat diseases and conditions including gout. So yes, gout and Apple cider vinegar can be used in the same sentence and there is a special link I will want to explain below.
Just to add, I have been using apple cider vinegar for a few years and I am more than just satisfied with its benefits. This is one of the best and the most popular home remedies I was able to discover and it is one of the most favorite ones among the gout sufferers. Believe or not, it has been used in the American Civil War to treat the wounds of injured soldiers.
What is apple cider vinegar actually?
Apple cider vinegar or more popular term, ACV is a juice that comes squeezed from the apples. But, then the bacteria and yeast are added in order to make this juice special. They will help the liquid get turned into alcohol. During the next step, the alcohol is transferred into the vinegar, which is a pale or amber-colored liquid. Then, we get this impressive home remedy which is used in literally every single part of the planet.
Is Apple Cider Vinegar Good For Gout?
When we consume apple cider vinegar, we get a huge intake of needed nutrients and mineral, like potassium. It is essential when it comes to removing toxins from the body and eliminating the excess of water. But for us, gout sufferers, apple cider vinegar is beneficial due to the fact it helps us stay away from getting our body alkalized. In other words, apple cider vinegar will help us protect ourselves from the main cause we get gout or gout attacks.

In addition, apple cider vinegar is known to remove or help our body dissolve the uric acid deposits which are later transferred into crystals which actually cause gout or the attacks. Now you can understand that once the uric acid level is decreased and the crystals are dissolved, we are at a lower risk of developing a gout attack. In order to get this benefit, you will have to consume apple cider vinegar. This is a bit specialized matter that I will explain further below.
At this point, I must add that there are no studies which can prove this claim scientifically. All of this is determined by third-parties or by gout sufferers who discovered the benefit of apple cider vinegar. I will also add the fact that I have been using apple cider vinegar and it actually helped or better said helps me prevent gout attacks.
How much apple cider vinegar should I drink for gout?
As I have mentioned earlier, here I must explain how you should use apple cider vinegar in order to protect yourself from gout attacks. The best way is to use it undiluted, but this isn’t a possibility for all of us. Keep in mind that you will have to consume 2-3 tablespoons at least 2-3 times per day. Once again, if you can consume it straight from the bottle it is highly beneficial, due rot the fact it will start reacting fast and there won’t be any side effects with it.
Sadly, most people are unable to consume apple cider vinegar like this. If you are one of them, you will have to know that there are plenty of alternatives. It is possible to mix apple cider vinegar with honey and drink it like that. Or, you can mix it with cherry juice or with ordinary water. Basically, it is up to you on which way you want to consume your daily dosage of apple cider vinegar. I must add that it is mandatory to use it on a regular basis. Taking it once or two times a week won’t be very beneficial and you won’t get any of the advantages or benefits apple cider vinegar has to offer.

Different types of apple cider vinegar
Now, I must add that there are different types of apple cider vinegar. In essence, you will have to get the best type of it in order to get the benefits I have explained. This means that organic and non-heated apple cider vinegar is the best option. It will bring you all the benefits but not a single drawback. If we take a look at heated apple cider vinegar, we can deduce that there won’t be any benefits of it. Basically, it is not effective in treating gout. If you are looking for the best way to treat gout in a natural way, apple cider vinegar, which is 100% organic is the best way.
Is it the holy grail?
Of course, apple cider vinegar isn’t a replacement therapy for gout, so do not stop using your therapy you have been using at the moment. It is crucial that you continue with taking your medications and having a healthy diet. Consuming apple cider vinegar is just an additional method which will help you decrease the risk of gout attacks and help you have a much better life quality.
There are no side effects of taking apple cider vinegar on a regular basis, even among the gout sufferers who suffer from additional conditions or issues. Just make sure that you do not use it combined with honey if you already suffer from diabetes, but this is probably something you already know.

I was wondering if I can have coconut milk or tofu? I also am not sure about black beans and tomato’s. Many say they have gout attacks having tomato but the information is so confusing. I had my first attack two weeks ago and am still recovering . On meds now and gradually increasing dosage so eating veggie and eggs, little dairy for protein…avac…salad etc,,,and quinoa. I will add foods later when I am recovered more fully. Thank you for any advise! Also a bit confused about bread items or wraps to have. Wondering about corn..popcorn would be a good snack to air pop if I could have it. You can tell I am somewhat confused because I have been reading on the internet to much! 🙂
Hello joline! I totally understand your confusion. Coconut milk is potassium-rich food which is very good for gout patients. Tofu is low in purines, I recommend eating 2-4 servings of tofu per week. More info about beans and black beans can be found here – https://goutpatients.com/beans-and-gout/ . Tomatoes and gout dont have significant relations. I recommend avoiding cooked tomatoes and processed ones, more info here – https://goutpatients.com/tomatoes-and-gout/ . I recommend eating 100% whole wheat breads, air-popped popcorn is OK! More info regarding bread and popcorn can be also found on my website – https://goutpatients.com/oatmeal-and-gout/ . 🙂
